Once upon a time there was this gal who was told over and over again not to walk barefoot in the house due to planters fasciitis. It is a very painful condition of the bottom of the foot, and going barefoot can definitely exacerbate the situation.
One day this stubborn soul was running in the backyard barefoot, and lo and behold, she stubbed her toe on a rock! Back and forth, back and forth to the Rheumatologist she went, the doctor saying it will get better on its own. But it stayed really red. Finally off to the Podiatrist she went. He said "yes," it has a tiny fracture. What should I do, I asked? It will probably heal on its own. Back and forth a couple of times to him, she went.
Unfortunately, due to having Rheumatoid Arthritis, the main treatment are infusions monthly. A negative thing about the shots are the slowing down of any type of healing in the body.
What should I do? What should I do?
"If you hadn't been barefooted in the first place, then this wouldn't have happened!!!!!!!" "Yes, dear." (says my sweet husband encouragingly)
To make a looooooooong story short, the joint needed to be removed from the toe by the Foot Surgeon.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
I TOED YOU NOT TO GO BAREFOOT PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry, I could not resist!
