.....I have shared that I recently had hip replacement. I went to the doctor this past Wednesday for my 2 week check up. Everything is going well! I like to gab to other people at the waiting room, about their stories, and how they are doing. These 2 older gentlemen & I were talking, and we glanced over and noticed this very young man sitting quietly 2 chairs over from me. Being nosey, I asked, are you here for a sports injury? He explained to us that he was 35 years old, and both hips had to be replaced. The three of us were so saddened for him.

He further shared that he was a restaurant manager, and of course worked super long hours.

He inquired of us, the old hands, if we thought he should get both hips done at the same time? We agreed that one would probably be better! We also asked about his support system, who would take care of him and so forth. He said his wife would.

I am so blessed. I did not have to fight any of those battles until I was an "ole fart" !!! (I don't remember if I had already shared my mother's humor!) I miss her so!

One thing that he first shared with us in the beginning was that he had figured out in this head, if a replacement lasts approximately 25 years, then he will need another one .......

That is what is called Terroristic Thinking! Boy do I know it well!!!!!

All we could do was urge him to concentrate on today! By the time 25 years or so rolls around, there is no telling what will be available to correct medical problems! It will probably be robotically in pain free ways!!! Who knows?!!!!
