Fibromyalgia is an invisible illness

When you see someone in a wheelchair or using a cane, you can tell something is wrong & you don't question it when they pull into a handicapped parking space. There are a lot of other handicapped people with disabilities that you can't see that are just as sick.

People with fibromyalgia may not look sick. When you see us, we are probably well groomed & look like everyone else. But you may see us only on our good days. Unless you live with us, you probably won't see us on our bad days. Those can be days when we can't get out of bed, much less out the door. There have been so many times that I have had to back out of plans that I was looking forward to just because my chronic fatigue would not allow me to attend.

Fibromyalgia is a central nervous system disorder where the person feels pain more intensely. Depression can be so prevalent with chronic pain, & all the other jillion puzzle pieces!
